Karter Thomas are working with a leading housing provider to recruit an experienced Electrician to join their in-house maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and customer-focused professional to take on varied electrical work across a range of domestic properties.

The Role

As an Electrician, you’ll carry out a wide range of repairs, maintenance, installations, and testing across occupied and vacant homes. You’ll ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, in line with current regulations and health and safety requirements.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Carrying out electrical upgrades, rewires, and installation of consumer units and associated works.

  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults quickly and effectively.

  • Completing EICRs and minor works certificates where required.

  • Undertaking basic associated building tasks (e.g., small plumbing or carpentry works when needed).

  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong communication with tenants and colleagues.

  • Using a PDA to manage and record works, materials, and job completions accurately.

  • Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota on a rotating basis.

 

About You

You’ll be a qualified and self-motivated Electrician who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and great customer care.

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds equivalent in Electrical Installation.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382).

  • Experience working in domestic settings, ideally within social housing or local authority environments.

  • Strong understanding of health & safety and electrical compliance.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • C&G 2391 (Inspection & Testing).

  • ECS or CSCS Card.

  • Experience using PDAs or job management systems.
