Quality Control and Assurance Officer
Salary: £40,850 per annum
Location: Norfolk (Field-based)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Control and Assurance Officer to join our clients Maintenance team. This is a key role ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of all in-house repairs and contracted works. You will deliver technical oversight, carry out quality assurance inspections, and provide expert advice to support high standards in building maintenance and repairs.
Your work will contribute directly to the long-term asset investment strategy, ensuring repairs meet statutory requirements, industry best practice, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake quality assurance inspections on all in-house and contractor-delivered repairs.
Identify gaps in quality, provide technical guidance, and support compliant resolutions.
Monitor work compliance with building regulations, CDM requirements, and internal policies.
Produce reports with recommendations for corrective actions, planned works, or process improvements.
Advise internal teams and contractors on Health & Safety, technical specifications, and labour requirements.
Ensure robust management of data and systems for all quality control activity.
Respond proactively to emergencies, legal disrepair cases, or health and safety risks.
Conduct technical surveys, including pre- and post-inspections, and provide clear recommendations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices in housing maintenance.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery.
About You
You will be a highly skilled building surveyor with expertise in quality assurance, building maintenance, and technical compliance. You’ll have excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and service improvement.
Essential skills and experience:
Significant experience in building surveying and maintenance for domestic properties.
Expertise in legal disrepairs and contract management frameworks.
Experience producing KPIs, management reports, and data-driven recommendations.
Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM, HHSRS, and relevant health & safety legislation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-specialists.
Strong organisational and project management abilities, including prioritising tasks under pressure.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
RICS-accredited Surveying Degree or HNC in Construction.
NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification.
Evidence of training in HHSRS, damp remediation, and CDM compliance.
Additional requirements:
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
